Airline Lounges Around the World
I have to admit that U.S. airline lounges (I belong to United's Red Carpet Club) generally suck when compared to its international counterparts.
I am writing this at Tokyo Narita Airport where they provide free internet access and computers, real meals - yummy bowl of udon noodles, and heated toilet seats. Other than the heated toilets (really, what is that about?) and my flight being delayed, it's been rather nice. At Bangkok's new airport, Thai Airways' lounge provided leather seats that reclined into beds. Nice!
My last whiny post really shouldn't be taken as a bad reflection on Bangkok. As regular readers of this post know, I don't deal well with heat and humidity. Of which, there was plenty in Bangkok. But, the people are lovely, the food is fabulous and the shopping is incomparable. Even I, who HATES to shop (with the exception of shoes and books) spent innumerable hours hitting the various markets and shopping centers.
Not to worry, I also got a healthy dose of culture as well. I'll post the details of this trip when I get home. I still have about 16 hours of travel ahead of me.
As a teaser - there were death defying cab rides, high tea, Kenny G, too many kilos, and being all Wat'ed out.

I'm soooo jealous! Not of the noodles and heated seats...but just cuz you're in Japan. I'd give anything to be there right now!
Narita has an awesome cubicle hotel. It's a little tricky to find, but totally worth it. The rooms are only slightly bigger than one's own self, but have everything you need to feel human again, all for the ridiculous price of something like 10 bux.
